Accommodation

A stay in one of our famed residential halls and colleges would definitely elevate your fabulous summer experience in Hong Kong. As places for accommodation at HKU are limited and highly coveted, reservation is on a first-come-first-served basis and priority will be given to non-local students. We suggest that you apply for accommodation as soon as you are offered admission to our programme(s) to avoid disappointment.

Eligibility and Fee

As the number of HKU-managed residential halls is limited and highly coveted, reservation is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
HKU-managed residential halls give priority to students who are not residing in Hong Kong. Only students admitted to HKUSI are eligible for a fixed period of residence.
HKUSI admitted students and family members are eligible for Hotel accommodations.
After accepting your programme offer on the online application system, you will receive the information and application method for hall and hotel accommodation later. You will then require to submit your online reservation. Alternatively, you can also find hotels or short-term rental apartment by yourself.
After your hall accommodation placement is confirmed, you will need to pay the accommodation fee through the Online Reservation Platform.

For Secondary School Students ONLY:

Only students aged 15 or above (on or before the check-in date) can reside in the HKU-managed residential halls within the programme period.
Students under 15 should arrange hotel accommodation and stay with family members during the programme period.

Staying Period

We suggest you to arrive the day before commencement of the programme and depart the day after the programme ends.

Payment

For HKU Residential Hall:

Payment method: Credit card, WeChat Pay, AlipayHK, Alipay, or FPS payment via the Online Reservation Platform
The accommodation fee is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangeable and not for re-sale.

For Hotel Accommodation:

Payment method: Credit card
All fees will be charged directly by the hotel.

Check-In time: 15:00-18:00
Check-Out time: 09:00-10:00
In case of any dispute, the decision of HKU Summer Institute (HKUSI) shall be final.
